Welcome to the Mississippi Affiliate of the Future Problem Solving Program Inc.!
The Future Problem Solving Program Inc. (FPSPI) engages students in creative problem solving. Founded by creativity pioneer, Dr. E. Paul Torrance, FPSPI stimulates critical and creative thinking skills and encourages students to develop a vision for the future. FPSPI features curricular and co-curricular competitive, as well as non-competitive, activities in creative problem solving. "The most basic skill that can be taught in today's schools is problem solving. In fact, the teaching of future problem solving skills maybe the key to successful teaching of the other basics such as reading, writing and arithmetic. Many children are not motivated to master the basics unless they can see the connection between them and their future lives."
E. Paul Torrance

Mission Statement
The Mississippi Affiliate of the Future Problem Solving Program International (Mississippi FPSPI) prepares Mississippi’s students for the future by teaching them essential problem solving skills. The challenging materials of FPSPI are designed to help students learn how to think, not what to think. FPSPI motivates and assists students in developing an active interest in the future; improving written and oral communication skills; working cooperatively; developing research skills while learning about complex social and scientific issues; and thinking creatively, critically, and analytically.
